Padel Championship 2026 - Rules & General Information

Dear players,

Thank you for your participation in the 5th FLT CUPRA Padel Championships.

All schedules will be drawn up based on the already published competition calendar. Only inquiries

regarding match times will be taken into account as far as possible. Please note that, due to

reservations already made for the padel courts, no further changes can be allowed to the match

schedules.

In this context, we would like to share some important information with you:

Point 1 – General Information

• Each team consists of either 2 men, 2 women, or 1 man and 1 woman (mixed).

• The tournament will take place from the 25th of September to the 10th of October 2026.

Please note that the matches will be played at CK Sportcenter (Kockelscheuer), Sport4Lux

(Münsbach) or Bonnevoie (Tennis Club Bonnevoie).

• The courts have been pre-booked at the respective match times and the match balls will

be provided by the organizer.

• Each player must complete the check-in with the responsible staff member at least 15

minutes before their first match. In case of late unexcused arrival of a team (max. 15 min),

a W.O. may be awarded at the referee’s discretion.

• The responsible staff member will be clearly identified.

• The registration fee is 35 EUR per player, payable at check-in before the player’s first

match.

• The entry limit for each category is 24 pairs.

• Acceptance is determined first by category and then by Combined Ranking Points. In each

category, the 24 pairs with the highest Combined Ranking Points are accepted. Remaining

pairs are placed on a waiting list and may be admitted if accepted pairs withdraw, subject

to the Organizer’s published deadlines.

Point 2 – Play Mode specifically for Cat. 100 – Group Stages

• Each group normally consists of four (4) teams or, if there is no other option, a group of

five (5). However, the minimum number of teams in a group is three (3).

• The group-stage matches will be played to 9 games with silver point, and in case of a tie

at 8-8, a normal tiebreak of up to 7 points will be played.

• The groups will be sorted by:

- 1) total of points;

- 2) games difference;

- 3) most games won;

- 4) head-to-head result:

- Wins: 1 point. Loss: 0 points.

• If two teams are still tied, a draw will decide the winner. The draw is carried out by the

person responsible, in the presence of two players or witnesses.

• If the groups are uneven (e.g. 3 groups of four and 2 groups of three), in the groups of four,

the matches in this group that were played against the bottom-ranked team will not be

included in the count and will be excluded from the results.

• After the group stage, a main draw will be created. The round of 16 (depending on the

number of teams), quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be played. The top two teams in

each group will advance to the main draw. If there are not enough groups to complete main

draw with the two group leaders, the best third-placed teams will be called in instead. These

teams will be selected using the same criteria described above.

Point 3 - Play Mode for categories 200, 300, 400, 500 and 700 - Qualifica1on Phase

• The qualification phase consists of one single-elimination match per team.

• Seeds 17-24 play against Seeds 9-16 in the qualification phase.

• The qualification phase will be played in two sets of six games each, following the standard

tie-break format (at 6-6). Should it be necessary, the third set will be played as a match

tiebreak format (up to 10 points, with a two-point difference). In sets one and two, the

games are played with silver point.

• The 8 winning teams qualify for the main draw; the 8 losing teams are eliminated from the

tournament.

Point 4 - Play Mode for categories 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 700 – Main Draw

• The main draw will be played in accordance with the match schedule published by the

Padel commission.

• The round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played in two sets of six games each,

following the standard tie-break format (at 6-6). Should it be necessary, the third set will be

played as a match tiebreak format (up to 10 points, with a two-point difference). In sets one

and two, the games are played with silver point.

• The semi-finals and finals will be played on the 10th of October at CK Sportcenter.

• Each final is played as the best of three sets with silver point.

• No consolation matches will be played in the P100 Category; in all other categories,

consolation matches are played as one set to 9 games; a tie-break is played at 8-8.

• No ranking points will be awarded to players who do not play their consolation matches.

Point 5 - Balls

Group Stages

• Two (2) new ball tubes in a group of four (4) or five (5) teams.

• One (1) new ball tube in a group with less than four (4) teams.

Main draw

• One (1) new ball tube for each match in the main draw.

• In the final, new balls will be issued in the event of a third set.

• All the matches will be played with balls of the HEAD brand.

Point 6 – Fair play and behavior

All players must:

• Respect opponents, facilities and organization

• Apply self-arbitration

• Maintain a sporting attitude

Point 7 - Important

• If one team withdraws from the main draw in the first round, one lucky loser moves up.

• In all categories, if a seeded team withdraws no later than 48 hours before the start of the

tournament, the seeding will be recalculated.

• If a team is declared W.O. before the first match of the group stage has been played, the

groups will be redrawn. This applies to groups of three in each category.

Point 8 – Miscellaneous

• The awards ceremony will be held after all the finals (Saturday, the 10th of October).

• Each participant in the U18 category will receive a participation prize provided by the

organizer.
